I have internet again!

It's a bit slower than the cable net, but as long as it works and I can still download jdramas I don't care.  I got my NEWS Live Diamond dvd today.   My computer is being retarded and doesn't want to play it.  I am looking for some new dvd software so here's to hope.  I am still contemplating getting a net book since I don't do much gaming.  Winter is a great time for MapleStory though.....*fights urges*
I am all moved in to le Chateau Je'mu.  Mr. Yuki is adjusting to the basement/house lifestyle very well.

A lot has happened since my last post, but I don't want to type it all out. blah blah  stuff mostly.  Next week I only work 2 days then my mom is coming to visit.  *Excited*  We are going to have a busy week.  My aunt wants to do a bunch of stuff too, but I kind of want to hog mum all to myself.  We may fly to SD for a day or two and then back to the cities for a concert and then a Vikings game.  I have never been to a pro-game of any kind so it will be interesting.  Mom is a A.football nut so she got us some prime seats.

Right now I am waiting for Je'mu to return with leaf rakes.  It's just gorgeous weather today so leaf raking is on the schedule.  Yuki will supervise.

I just found a soppy 10 dollar bill in the parking lot.  WIN

Today I must box EVERY THING I own.  The movers will be here tomorrow morning.  It's a bit stressful since it's only me working on it, but it is all my crap.  Well, some is ninja_tech's but that's ok.  Yuki is doing a good job supervising...and staying out of the way.  I was wrapping up some cords and thought that if Murphy Michael Patrick was here he would be "helping".  I miss the kitty.

I started packing up my sock drawer.

Additionally, I may have a shoe problem

.....naaah.

To say that I am pissed off would be an understatement.  When I said "I don't want to live anywhere near Dayton's Bluff"  "I don't want to live right off Lake St" I wasn't fucking making shit up.   So why am I being flooded with house listings for these areas?  Because realtors DO NOT LISTEN TO YOU.

Also, when you asked me and I told you I work at 7:30 AM, I meant I have a job I have to go to in the mornings so NO I cannot look at properties before work.  What's the point of looking at something in the fucking dark.  I can't tra-la-la into work whenever it suits me.  I have a schedule.  knavbholbqahiop u]0 244ujkg234q34yqy- yh- u- aryh a

AARRRRRRRR!   A point that this source of current rage is not even my contracted realtor, but the backup while mine is on vacation.  Please woman, I just want to concentrate on moving into Je'mu's basement this month since I only have a few precious weekends to do so.

in other news I went to bed at 830pm last night and it was heavenly.

I managed to move 1 car load of boxes to the garage of my anticipated abode.  Je'mu helped me unload my book boxes, which was very nice since my arms were noodles after having to move them from the apato to the car solo.  I also chanced to meet his father, who is a very nice person.
Today's packing adventure resulted in the discovery of 22 packets of matches and 12 lighters.  Now, I don't consider myself a smoker.  I will have the occasional smoke, but it's very rare these days.  How does one accumulate so much fire??  Ninja_tech gave me a couple old lighters when she quit smoking, but not that many.  I will of course keep the military matches because they are cool and my lighter I got at the Narita Rest house (because it was the first thing I bought in Japan), but what do you do with the rest?  I can't imagine it would be ok to just toss them in the trash... greeny-ness says No.  I don't have any friends that smoke any more, so I can't pass them on.
Any suggestions?

I am packing my belongings.  Presently tackling the Unknown - or the bottom of my very big closet - and have come across 2 shocking discoveries.

1)  I have a lot more fabric than I previously thought.  I mean a lot... yards and yards.

2)  When in the hell did I buy or obtain ownership of a blue/gold polyester chinese dragon muumuu?

Well, I hope my soon-to-be roomie Jmu doesn't venture down to the basement and find me lounging and sipping gin martinis in my sexy muumuu.

I had a nice long weekend in SD.  The drive was a bit boring by myself, but uneventful drives are fine.  Friday night was ridiculously silly and that was before vodka.  So there you have it.  Monday was full of fail however.  I spent the early morning commute debating on if I should turn around and go home.  Made it to work but only lasted an hour before I felt too bad to stick around.  Went home and napped on and off with Mr. Yuki.  I will spare you the gory details.  Did manage to watch the rest of Love Shuffle.  OMG I love it.  Some things are predictable but most bits are not and that's a point I like in dramas.  It ended with a very satisfying feeling as well.

So I went out and bought a headset for the computer so I could skype with ninja_tech.  I can't get the damned thing to work.  I am pretty sure all my settings are right but when I plug it to the designated jacks, it doesn't work - no sound and no mic.  Someone come over and fix it for me. *throws computer parts everywhere*

So I have seen this van here and there and have always wanted to get a photo.  Lucky me today was the day I had my phone and a red light.  Too bad the van window is dirty.  The dirt kind of hides the fact that the sticker is so worn that you have a hard time reading it anyway.  But it's the sticker and the dent in the back that make me laugh every time.

Received a morning call from the Hokkaido Faction (ninja_tech)!  We will both pay dearly for our idol idle chat.....she is calling international and I am already 10min over my plan minutes.... but it was totally worth it.  I spent the rest of the day packing in between watching clips of 24 Hour TV as they became available.  I have to remind myself to comment on all the lovely people's ljs for being super awesome in posting.  Since there are so many clips, I will save my love for just 1 comment.

Had plans to see a little house to the east, but my realtor found out it had severe mold issues so I said I didn't want to see it at all.  While I do anticipate having to do some work on a house, I don't want to bother with mold.  It's horrible.

In other news....it was probably very naughty of me.... but they were on clearance from my favorite brand!!

I actually already have the flame ones, but they are pretty worn out.  Since I love them so much, I bought a back up pair!

So I have been up to my usual shenanigans.  House hunting is not going well.  I think my realtor is frustrated with me...like she's spending more on gasoline showing me places than what she will get for commission. >_<  My time has pretty much ran out so I may have to take up a co-worker's very very kind offer to let me a room (and my little dog too) at his place while I continue my search.  I think I will need a storage unit though as I have accumulated furniture and fabrics.

Last week I went and saw The Pretenders, Cat Power and Juliette Lewis at First Ave.  All three performances were fantastic!  Juliette played last.  I hadn't heard any of her music before so I was curious to see if the actress-turned-rocker was a real thing.  Oh yeah.  She's for real.  It was really awesome.  I must purchase some cds now.  I tried to take some photos with my phone of the bands, but it didn't turn out good enough to bother posting.

Mr. Yuki is back from "summer camp".  My aunt took him for a week to The Lake with her dogs.  They all went in the canoe.   I don't know how you get four dogs in a canoe and live to tell the tale,  He had a good time and now he is back here being constantly cute.  It's terrible.  I can't get anything done in between "awwwww"-ing at him.

And last but not least.....

Buzzer Beat ep 7

Last night I called Rhonda to plan our wednesday concert night and I heard what I thought to be an argument somewhere in my building.  I couldn't really tell because of the a/c was running and such so I thought people were just talking loudly.  Later I heard what I can confirm to be a fight.  Yelling and such.  I couldn't tell where it was coming from though and wondered how long I'd have to listen to that and how long it would take for the police to show up.  Not sure if they did or not because I was still on the phone (this time hearing about Yuki's summer camp adventures).  Well, this morning when I was leaving I saw the front door of the building was spiderwebed cracked.  Then went to the bottom of the stairs and there are about 4 huge punch holes in the drywall.  What. An. Asshole.  Firstly, this is not your house.  Many people live here. Do not punch holes in that which is not expressly yours.  Additionally, that section of the wall must now be replaced.  So this will make the wall look crappy.  I have three wishes.  One: I hope the cops showed up and maybe you spent the night with them Two: I hope the management charges you for the damages Three:  I hope to find a different place to live very very soon.

This brings me to house update.  My first offer was turned down, so lost the town home and back looking for places.  Must find something very soon because the lease is up in October.  I am very near freakout status.  I don't want to settle for something just because I am running out of time.

He's got nothing to do in jail.  Gosh, that must be tough.  I guess that's what musically genius eccentric bazillionaires have to put up with when THEY MURDER A PERSON.  What a dick.  I hope he cries in his little cell with his teeny-weeny tv and is forced to watch godawful american daytime television.  "He's not doing great" says his publicist.  Damn, Phil too bad.  Lana Clarkson isn't doing great either.  While you complain about rotting away in your little cell, she's got to rot away in her little grave.

What a waste of a news article.  What's with the sympathetic edge?!

So I have a LOT to post about, but will have to wait until later.  Having some serious new hard drive issues and intermittent crashing.  Don't you love completely starting afresh?  Anyway, I am in the middle of (finally) watching the first episode of Buzzer Beat and I had to say out loud on the internets...I love the shameless way j-dramas rip off well known music but tweak it just enough to avoid copyright infringements.  I have heard it in other dramas and it's like man, I know they produce dramas on the Serious Cheap, but damn.  They must spend most of the money on the main actors and the theme song band, but nothing on the BGM.

Now saving cash to crank out dramas doesn't bother me.  It's the music they pick to tweak that bothers me.  For 2 reasons... firstly, it's instantly recognizable and secondly, the song never fits in with the scene or the feel.  Example: Buzzer Beat using an instrumental theme variation from The Beatles "A Day in the Life".    I love that song.   But it's so distracting and does not feel right as BGM for this show.  >_<

/rant

ps.  Yamashita,  is it weird to be in a drama with those two girls?   Please tell Ito-san that he's HOT and I have been in love with him for years. Thanks.

pps.  heh pp....  Double thanks for the bath scene. Please follow RESCUE and have several of these.  I feel they are an integral part of the story.

Firstly, I have to say

I LOVE FAT KAMENASHI!

Yes Kame dear, beer is full of empty calories.  Now that that's been said...
So this house hunting is not going very well.  My buget is too small for anything decent and not in the bullet zones.  This is disheartening.  I did find a house that I liked a lot and was in my price range, but it turns out that the addendums from the seller's bank are retarded and do not protect the buyer at all (it's a short sale).  *le sigh*

In other news, ninja_tech is packing her stuff still for this friday's departure to Nippon.  I will miss her and applications for a new BFF will be forthcoming.    We went and saw Harry Potter HBP on Sunday.  It was great.  I liked the art direction changes and that they kept more of the humour even though the movie is much darker than the past ones.  I also liked the new music.  Snape is brilliant!      Also watched Ramen Girl on the netflix.  It was good.  Yamazaki-san made a surprise entrance so I was pleased.  yehsss.

At "the lake" as people in this state love to do.  Go to "the lake".  Since there's a bazillion lakes, it doesn't matter which one so no one bothers to say which one.  If it's a classy place, it's "up to the lake" because the northwoods is where it's at yo.  We are Up at the lake.  It's nice and relaxing, except for Mr. Yuki the city dog with his mountain dog relatives running all over the woods.  He's little and there's no fences to keep him from the road.  SO that is concerning but he's pretty good and coming back when called.  Much to my relief.
Mom and I are at a coffee shop in town with the wi fi.  yay!  Thought I would sneak in a quick post while she finishes her coffee.  Have been swimming and playing with my nephew Vincent.  Good times.  He's a bright silly 3.5 yr old.

When I get home I may not have internets for a bit.  My hard drive crashed last week and I just got the new HD installed.  It's been a while since I had to do that and I don't quite remember how to set up an internet connection.  >_< fails

Today....... I killed.

A bird.

With my car.

It was, as the title suggests, unavoidable.  I was on the expressway going 60 mph (96kph) in end-of-workday traffic.  So there was no changing lanes and no braking for birds.     At first I exclaimed "ohhhh birrrd!"  ~\(>_<)/~   "Why are you in the road!!  Why don't you fly up or off to the side!!?"  I was angry as I felt it hit up under the bumper and under the driver tire.  Smucked him.  Poor bird.  I felt bad.  I can only comfort myself in the fact that it was an absolutely instantaneous death.  For sure.

I haven't done any significant grocery shopping lately.  The last trip was for ramen and beanjuice (soymilk).  So I don't have too much to work with and was kind of sick of ramen.  Yes, that happens.   This left me with a dinner predicament.
What to make that was not:
A) boring
B) complicated
C) gross
I had some fish, eggs, 1 green onion, yogurt, assorted noodles, cake, shiro miso and bacon.  Those were the main contenders.  I also had enough batter for one big pancake left over from Sunday.  I was having a tough time, and ninja_tech jokingly (sort of) suggested to combine the bacon and pancake batter as one.  I like bacon.  I also like Bacon Experiments.  So I accepted her challenge.  I cooked the bacon, then coated it in pancake batter and cooked that.

Result:  Very Tasty
